Obituary for James Monroe Murray

James Monroe Murray, age 91, passed away June 13, 2018. Loving husband of the late Helen Martha Murray. He is survived by his 7 children, Gregory (Bridget) Murray, Mark (Lia) Murray, James (Sharon) Murray, Paula (Carlos Olivarez) Murray, Claudia Murray, Lynne Porter, and Michael (Kristy Feldkamp) Murray; his 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and, his dear friend, Madeline Maline.

James was born in Highland Park and attended Highland Park High School. After serving in the United States Army, owning a corner market and working at Chevrolet Gear and Axle as a die sinker, James completed a two-year course in Labor Relations at Wayne State University and worked as a business agent for the International Die Sinkers Convention (IDSC). After leaving the IDSC, James founded, and served as Executive Director of the Association of Die Shops International.

Family and friends may pay their respects Friday 3-9 PM at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 12 Mile Road, Berkley (2 blocks West of Woodward). Funeral services will be on Saturday 11 AM at the funeral home.

Memorial donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association and/ or the American Cancer Society.
