Obituary for Kenneth Jacobson

Kenneth Everett Jacobson of Huntington Woods, Michigan passed away peacefully February 10, 2018 at the age of 96 in his home with his family. He was born June 4, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Mabel and Pedar Jacobson.

Mr. Jacobson was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and maintained close contact with family there over the many years. He was a resident of Huntington Woods, MI for 54 years. After his service in the Army Air Corps During WWII from 6/1944 to 10/1945 as a 2nd Lieutenant Flight Instructor Mr. Jacobson was a valued member of the Dunwoody Institute faculty and recruited from there by General Motors. Mr. Jacobson was employed at GM as a Technical Writer for service research for 32 years. He was an essential member of Berkley Community Church for 40 years and a member of Grace Baptist Church in Birmingham for 12 years. He was a daily Prayer Warrior saying prayers for a large number of people. He also sang with a Gospel Quartet for 20 years. In addition, he was an avid walker and golfer. Most of all, he will be remembered for always being there to help everyone he knew.

Mr. Jacobson is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Michael) Sorensen, Diane Love, Rebecca Becky (Rick) Reed; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Judith (6-9-2013); his son, Thomas Jacobson; a brother, Theodore Ted Jacobson; and his parents, Mabel and Pedar Jacobson.

The family will receive friends 4:00 PM 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 along with a funeral service at 7:00 PM at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 Twelve Mile Rd. (2 Blocks West of Woodward) Berkley, MI. Additional funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave. Minneapolis, Minnesota 55408 under the direction of Washburn-McReavy Albin Praire Chapel Funeral Home, Eden Prairie , Minnesota. Friends and family will gather at the cemetery after 11:30 AM Saturday before the service.
